- For appropriate workplace disputes (ones that only involve a few employees and aren't too complicated) you can "borrow" a mediator from another state or federal agency

It's a good idea to conduct an assessment to see if a collaborative approach might be useful in a particular situation :
- There are rules to help guide your assessment, for example: "Assessment for Use of Collaborative DR Process in Complex Public Policy Controversies " and " Use of Collaborative Process in Rulemaking" Use a simple survey to do an assessment - Example Assessment or contact the ADR Coordinator for use of online assessment tools
- Hire someone to do an Independent Assessment
