Oregon Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services Fund - HB 2918
The 2001 Oregon Legislature adopted HB 2918, which established the Oregon Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services Fund. The $2.5 million fund was establish to accomplish three goals:
- Provide safety for and assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, promote effective intervention and reduce the incidence of domestic violence and sexual assault;
- Advocate for victims and for domestic violence and sexual assault services; and
- Promote and facilitate interagency and interdepartmental cooperation among state agencies, including the Department of Human Services and the Department of State Police, and among different levels of government in this state in the delivery and funding of services.
The Attorney General, in cooperation with a broad array of state agencies, advocacy groups, victims, county governments and local services, is charged with the development of a plan for the allocation of the appropriated funds.
Attorney General Myers convened the HB 2918 workgroup in September of 2001. All workgroup meetings are open to the public and listed below.
